Policies and Procedures

1. Liability Policies

  • Mr. SmartClean and its employees commit to delivering reliable and trustworthy service as stated in the contract. In exchange for these services, the client expressly waives any claims against Mr. SmartClean or its employees, except in cases of gross negligence on the part of Mr. SmartClean.
  • While we strive to handle your belongings with the utmost care, accidents can occur. Any notification of breakage or loss must be made within 24 hours. Items that are antique, irreplaceable, or difficult to replace are not covered under our policy. Please ensure these items are removed before the cleaning date.
  • To avoid injuries, Mr. SmartClean employees do not use ladders or move items over 40 pounds. If cleaning behind large objects is required, please move these items before the cleaning appointment.
  • Mr. SmartClean does not use bleach. If the client requests bleach usage, Mr. SmartClean is not responsible for any resulting damage.
  • Mr. SmartClean is not responsible for damage caused by improper installation of any object. All surfaces are assumed to be sealed. If any surface is not sealed, it is the client’s responsibility to notify us so we can adjust our cleaning methods.

2. Business Policies

  • Mr. SmartClean staff does not handle the cleaning of animal cages, litter boxes, animal waste, human waste (outside of regular restroom maintenance), vomit, soiled clothing, or other biohazards.
  • We recommend that alarms are turned off on the day of cleaning. If the alarm must remain active and is triggered, Mr. SmartClean is not liable for any related fees.
  • Mr. SmartClean will keep keys and other client information secure and confidential. We will cover locksmith fees only if our company misplaces the keys.
  • Cleaning rates may change as service conditions change. Any additional services must be requested in advance so that we can allocate the appropriate time, staff, and materials.
  • A detailed checklist will be left for the client after each cleaning to clearly communicate the work completed in each area.
  • If you wish to hire a current or former Mr. SmartClean employee for cleaning services outside of your agreement with us, a referral fee of $2,500 will apply. All Mr. SmartClean employees and independent contractors are bound by a non-compete agreement for one year.

3. Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations must be made at least 2 days before the scheduled service, or the full cleaning fee will be charged. This includes instances where we cannot access the facility or if an employee feels unsafe due to aggressive pets or individuals on the premises.
  • Mr. SmartClean reserves the right to deny service due to safety concerns, financial issues, or inappropriate or uncomfortable situations.
  • For complete cancellations of contracts, a fee of 33.3% of the remaining contract total will be applied. This fee is non-negotiable.

4. Business Hours, Holidays, and Weather Policies

  • Mr. SmartClean reserves the right to cancel services due to inclement weather.
  • We do not perform cleanings on holidays. If your cleaning falls on a holiday, Mr. SmartClean will reach out to reschedule.

5. Bad Check Policy

  • A fee of $50 will be charged for any returned checks. All associated fees must be paid promptly by cash or money order.

6. Payment Policy

  • Payment is required before services are rendered unless 30-day payment terms have been approved. A $20 late fee will apply if payment is not received on the scheduled day. Payments made more than 15 days late will incur a 12.5% finance charge per month. We reserve the right to suspend services until payment is made.

7. Satisfaction Guarantee

  • Mr. SmartClean is committed to ensuring your complete satisfaction. If, within 24 hours of service, you are not satisfied with any aspect of the cleaning, we will return to your facility and re-clean the specific areas at no additional charge.
